Standard tours can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 24 hours before the departure time for a full refund. Combination tours, the food market tour and the private custom tour require 48 hours' notice, since a guide is arranged specifically for the day.

If a tour is affected by genuinely severe weather — a typhoon warning closing the observation deck, for instance — you are offered a rebooking or a full refund of the ticket price.

What should I wear for a castle tour?

Comfortable, casual clothing and shoes you can walk two to three kilometres in. Osaka's summers are hot and humid, so light layers and sun protection matter from June to September; winters are cool and dry, so bring a warm layer for the evening tours.

Is there parking at Osaka Castle Park?

Only a small, expensive paid lot inside the park, and the access road is easy to miss. Almost everyone arrives by train — Tanimachi 4-chome or Temmabashi stations are a ten-minute walk from the Otemon Gate meeting point, and JR Osakajokoen Station opens onto the park's north side.

Are the tours suitable for children and elderly guests?

Yes. The park's paths are paved and mostly flat, with a dedicated Family Tour paced for younger children. The tower has a lift as far as the 7th floor, but the final flight to the 8th-floor observation deck is stairs only — tell us about mobility needs in advance and we will plan around them.

Do I need to buy Osaka Castle tower admission separately?

It depends on the tour. The Museum & Tower Tour and the Osaka Castle & Dotonbori Tour include reserved tower admission in the price; the Walking Tour, History Tour, Family Tour and combination tours with Kuromon Market and Umeda cover the grounds only, with tower admission addable at booking.

What happens if a tour is affected by weather?

Walking tours run rain or shine, since most of the route and all of the museum floors are usable regardless. Only the open-air observation deck and the evening photography tour can be affected by genuinely severe weather such as a typhoon warning, in which case you are offered a rebooking or a full refund.
